Mike Chenoweth at the mic with house players on keys, guitar, and drums at the Resonate After Hours Open Jam

After Hours
Open Jam

An open stage at Resonate, the last Sunday of every month. Anyone can come. Musicians from around the city take turns on the mic, alongside students, teachers, and friends of Resonate. House players are there to back people up, so showing up is enough.

What happens

Lessons wrap up by 6. The front desks roll out of the way, couches get rearranged, and the lounge becomes a room with a stage. By 6:15 the sign-up sheet is out. By 6:30 the lights are down and the music starts.

Mike Chenoweth hosts. Put your name on the sheet, and when it comes up, you take the stage. Bring a band, a friend, or just yourself. The house players, a rotating group of working musicians from around Resonate, are there to back people up. A song, a chord chart, or a key is enough.

Full bands, solo acts, first-timers, and regulars all play over the course of a night. The audience is whoever came. Local musicians, students, teachers, parents, friends of Resonate. Some come every month. Some come once to listen. Listening counts too.

Last Sunday of every month. Sign-up opens at 6:15pm, and the jam runs from 6:30 to 9:30. Earlier sign-ups play earlier in the night.
